Marta Tamayo. Founder and Director of Communication & Marketing at Le Secret du Marais.

A perfume expert and member of the distribution jury of the Academia del Perfume Awards. More than 20 years ago, together with her husband Jean-Luc Gardarin, she founded Spain’s first 100% niche perfumery, which received the “Best Niche Perfumery” award in 2017 from BeautyProf magazine.
Since then, they have worked to introduce this type of perfumery to a wider audience, sharing their passion and savoir-faire through their physical boutique and online store, offering more than 80 fragrance brands and over 1,800 perfume references.
They have also brought the profession of perfumer and its creative universe closer to the public through introductory perfumery courses and fragrance creation workshops.
Over the years, they have introduced renowned master perfumers as well as emerging talents through their Scent Bar events, where creators share their artistic and technical processes. They have launched in Spain iconic luxury fragrance brands such as Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Kilian Paris, and Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle.
They have participated in cultural events around perfumery, including ARCO art fair and exhibitions at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and various art galleries. They have collaborated with both large and small companies to create bespoke olfactory experiences for clients and internal teams, including Porsche Iberia, American Express, Mapfre, Abadía Retuerta, Vodafone, Pernod Ricard, Air France, and the Madrid Open Tennis Tournament.
All of this has been guided by the conviction that perfume is an expression of art and the poetry of memory.
